OREANDA-NEWS. In Russia, oil production in the first 26 days of April decreased by 8.7% compared to March figures to 1.37 million tons due to anti-Russian sanctions. Kommersant writes about this, citing a source familiar with the situation.
The interlocutors of the publication indicated that there is a trend of further reduction in oil. At some enterprises, the level of production decreased by 26-40%. In particular, the reduction in production is associated with a decrease in refining at some oil refineries (refineries).
According to market experts, oil production in Russia has declined due to the mass refusal of European consumers from it. Therefore, it is necessary to redirect part of the volumes to other markets, but this takes time.
On April 27, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov did not rule out a 17% reduction in Russian oil production in 2022 due to Europeans refusing to buy it. According to the head of the department, the Ministry of Finance did not calculate the possible consequences for the budget from this step.
Will there be a decrease in production? Will. In what volumes: 17%, a little less or a little more - perhaps. But the fact that we took into account the current situation with the exchange rate, with the volume of production and with the prices of energy resources is yes, this is taken into account in our forecasts. How sales will continue is now difficult to assess, ”said Siluanov.
Thus, he answered the question about the Finance Ministry's assessment of the consequences of Europe's refusal to purchase Russian energy resources.
