OREANDA-NEWS. The cost of gas for the population of Ukraine in July due to lower prices on the foreign market will decrease by 10.4%.  The head of the gas division of the Naftogaz group, Andrei Favorov, announced this on Thursday after a meeting with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

 “The price of gas in July for the population, without VAT, without tariffs for transportation and supply, will be 4,905 hryvnia per thousand cubic meters.  m., which is less by 650 hryvnia than the price in June - 5554 hryvnia, "- stated in the statement.

 Since 2014, in Ukraine, in the framework of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), there has been a repeated increase in gas prices for the population: the total cost of one thousand cubic meters of "blue fuel" increased from 725 hryvnia in 2013 (about $ 90 at the then rate of the National Bank of Ukraine)  to 8549 hryvnia from November 1, 2018 (about $ 305 at the exchange rate for this date).
