OREANDA-NEWS. The Naftogaz Ukrainy company is exploring the possibility of new lawsuits against Gazprom. This was announced on Monday by the executive director of Naftogaz Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko on Facebook.
According to him, we are talking about a lawsuit against Gazprom’s abuse of its dominant position under a new transit contract and under a contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom for the transfer of RosUkrEnergo's debt obligations. Also, Naftogaz is preparing to submit to the European Court of Arbitration a new package of documents as part of the process against Russia for the loss of assets in the Crimea, Vitrenko said.
“This week we are completing preparations for the next submission of documents in the framework of the arbitration process against the Russian Federation regarding assets in the Crimea”, he wrote, recalling that this arbitration process has been going on for several years.
“In the arbitration on assets in the Crimea, the Russian Federation confronts us, not Gazprom”, he continued. “Therefore, this arbitration does not fall under the settlement agreement with Gazprom that Naftogaz concluded in December”. According to him, this process is about $ 8 billion, including interest.
