OREANDA-NEWS. Rosneft's subsidiary TNK Trading International SA is increasing Venezuelan oil exports amid US sanctions against Rosneft Trading. This was reported on Monday by the American news agency.
According to him, it is expected that in the first two months of 2020, TNK Trading International SA will export 14.3 million barrels of oil from Venezuela, while for the whole of 2019, these figures did not exceed 5 million barrels. Bloomberg emphasizes that the company has at least 8 tankers necessary for this.
On February 18, the US administration announced the imposition of sanctions on Rosneft Trading S. A. and its President Didier Kasimiro in connection with the sale of oil from Venezuela. Blacklisting means freezing assets in the United States and prohibiting US citizens or companies from doing business with them. Washington provided 90 days to complete transactions with Rosneft Trading.
Rosneft is one of the largest foreign investors in Venezuela, implementing several oil exploration and production projects together with the state-owned company PDVSA. The companies also have a Perforosven oilfield service joint venture.
