OREANDA-NEWS. Starting January 1, 2020, Russia cut off oil supplies to Belarus’s oil refineries (refineries). This was reported by the Russian media with reference to a source in the republic’s oil industry.
“There is no transportation in the direction of Belarusian oil refineries”, the source said. According to him, the "continuous batch" of oil ended on December 31. At the same time, the source of RIA Novosti added that Minsk has oil reserves, and oil refineries are currently operating normally. An unnamed representative of two oil refineries, OJSC Naftan and Mozyr Oil Refinery, informed Interfax about the suspension of supplies.
Earlier, Reuters, citing six sources in the industry, said that Moscow could stop oil exports to Belarus from January 1 due to a lack of supply conditions for next year. According to the agency, the cessation of Russian oil supplies means the appearance of additional export volumes of the Urals mix in other directions, in particular in the Baltic ports.
