OREANDA-NEWS. Russian oil refineries received oil with a high concentration of chlorides even before the situation with oil pollution in the Druzhba pipeline. About the new such case, which occurred in the first half of April, learned the Russian newspaper.

In particular, the Volgograd Refinery of LUKOIL collided with an increase in the concentration of organochlorine compounds in oil on April 4. According to the newspaper, in connection with this, the structure of LUKOIL turned to the Transneft Volga Region with a remark. The newspaper notes that the events unfolded two weeks before Belarusian Belneftekhim complained about the flow of low-quality oil through the Druzhba pipeline (another direction of the Transneft system).

In Transneft and LUKOIL confirmed the information about exceeding the standards for organochlorine. With reference to Igor Demin, adviser to the head of the pipeline monopoly, the publication writes that the traces of the compounds were in the delivered oil batch of one of the LUKOIL subsidiaries. The situation with the flow of contaminated oil has nothing to do with subsequent problems at Druzhba, Demin added.

In LUKOIL, it was explained that minor deviations of the organochlorine indicator from the standard were recorded in the first decade of April in one-off samples. However, noted in the company, average daily rates were within the normal range. “This is a working situation, and no influence has been exerted on the activities of the Volgograd refinery”, the newspaper reported in the press service of the company.

The problems on the Druzhba pipeline became known on April 19. Belarusian Belneftekhim then complained about the incoming oil with a high content of organochlorine. According to the Investigative Committee, the dirty oil was loaded into the pipeline through the Samara-Unecha metering station to conceal the theft.
