OREANDA-NEWS. Russia is ready for alternative options for the supply of its energy resources, including Europe's refusal from them, in which case the resources will be redirected to other markets. This was stated by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, TASS reports.
“We are not interested in such a scenario [in a complete halt in the import of energy resources from Russia to Europe], but we are ready for all possible options if, nevertheless, [the European Union] takes such a rash step,” she said.
Matviyenko recalled that the amount of energy resources on the world market is limited, and after the pandemic, there has been rapid growth and economic recovery.
“We see how rapidly the countries of Asia, China, India are developing. And the need for energy resources will certainly grow. If they [the European Union] make such a decision, then we are working on various options for replacing markets - that's all, ”added the speaker of the Federation Council.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that Germany should strive to reduce dependence on energy imports from Russia.
