OREANDA-NEWS. Lukoil is discussing with a state-owned company from Equatorial Guinea GEPetrol the entry into the project for the exploration and development of hydrocarbon reserves on the EG-27 block offshore with a share of 80% (20% from GEPetrol). One of the options for implementing the project involves the construction of an LNG plant on a floating platform with a capacity of 2.2 million tons, the Equatorial Guinean Hydrocarbon Minister Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF).
"The capacity of this floating LNG plant is likely to be the same as we discussed with Ophir - about 2.2 million tons per year. Their share will be 80%, the national company - 20%", he said.
Earlier, Lukoil’s president Vagit Alekperov and Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Hydrocarbons, Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, signed a memorandum at the Russia-Africa summit, which envisages participation of the Russian company in hydrocarbon exploration and production projects in this country.
