OREANDA-NEWS. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Russia had violated its obligations on supply oil to the republic. The politician declared this on February 6 during a meeting on ensuring the efficient operation of the fuel and energy sector.

Belarusian leader recalled that, according to the agreements, Moscow was supposed to supply 24 million tons of oil during the year, 2 million tons per month. “In January, 500 thousand was delivered – one quarter,” Lukashenko said.

The head of state asked what the government plans to do to solve this problem. “Once again… I repeat: all oil refineries should work. We must provide petroleum products not only to the domestic market, as it is happening now, but also comply with our obligations under contracts on foreign markets, selling petroleum products to Europe, Ukraine and other countries,” the President emphasized.

Lukashenko also mentioned that the government should be ready to respond to any possible challenge and should not “cover the embrasure with bodies when a battle has already begun.”
