OREANDA-NEWS A thermal power plant (CHP) will be dismantled in Lithuania to transfer it to Ukraine in parts. This was announced by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during a press conference with Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev, the UNIAN news agency reports on the Telegram channel.

To date, the European Union (EU) countries have provided at least two billion euros to support Ukrainian energy, von der Leyen recalled. "This is already 10 thousand transformers and generators, as well as an entire thermal power plant, which is being dismantled in Lithuania and transported to Ukraine to restore it. And more will come," she said.

Earlier it was reported that due to problems with energy generation, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine decided to import electricity from five neighboring countries - Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Moldova.

According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, almost all thermal power plants supplying Kharkiv with energy were destroyed in the country. The Minister of Energy of the Republic, German Galushchenko, noted that Ukraine had lost half of its generating capacity.
