In August, Russia Reduced Oil Production by 12.8 %
OREANDA-NEWS. In August 2020, oil and gas condensate production in Russia amounted to 41.7 million tons, which is 12.8 % lower than the level of the same period in 2019. From January to August of the current year, production amounted to 346.07 million tons, which is 7.3 % less than in 2019. This follows from the operation summary of the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex (department of the Russian Energy Ministry).
The export of Russian oil to non-CIS countries during eight months of 2020 decreased by 8.8 % compared to the same period of 2019, to 150.96 million tons. In August, 16.88 million tons were exported, which is 22.6 % less than in 2019.
Gas production in Russia in August amounted to 53.21 billion cubic meters (4.3 % less than last year). From January to August of 2020, gas production decreased by 9 % compared to the same period of 2019, to 443.8 billion cubic meters.
Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the company Rosneft to work out the issue of resuming oil production in Sakhalin Island.
