OREANDA-NEWS There are several ways to resume the supply of Russian oil to Hungary through the territory of Ukraine, including through some kind of legal loophole, which Budapest is looking for. This was announced by the head of the administration of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Gergei Guyash, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, such a method can be resorted to if it is not possible to convince Ukraine to lift restrictions on the Russian oil company Lukoil, and the European Commission will not help Hungary.
Earlier, Guyash indicated that there would be enough fuel reserves for the republic in August, but if the problem is not solved in a month, then in September Hungary risks facing a shortage of gasoline. The official called Ukraine's actions blackmail for Budapest's position on the fighting on the territory of the republic.
In recent months, Hungary has blocked all EU initiatives to transfer funds for the purchase of weapons in the interests of Ukraine. The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrel, called such behavior shameful and destroying the unity of the EU's foreign policy position.
Against this background, the complaint of Hungary and Slovakia (the refinery of the Hungarian energy company Mol is located in the republic) to the European Commission with a request to influence Ukraine has not yet been answered. None of the participants in the consultations supported Budapest's position.
