OREANDA-NEWS   In October, Greece purchased liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia for the first time since March 2024, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of Eurostat data.

Greece stopped regular purchases of this fuel from Russia in April 2024. In October, imports resumed - its cost amounted to 27.3 million euros, which is half the figure for the same period last year.

At the same time, purchases of pipeline gas did not stop, and in October they increased 2.3 times year-on-year and amounted to 149.6 million euros. Since the beginning of the year, Greek imports amounted to 1.2 billion euros, the same amount was in January-October last year.

As a result, in just ten months of this year, Greece purchased 1.3 billion euros worth of gas from Russia, which is 10% less than last year's purchases.
