OREANDA-NEWS Gas supplies to China via the "Far Eastern" route will begin at the end of January 2027, the construction of the main gas pipeline is carried out strictly on schedule, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said.

"We are also implementing new projects. In particular, at the end of January 2027, gas will go to China via the "Far Eastern" route. The construction of the main gas pipeline is carried out strictly on schedule," the company's press service quoted Miller as saying.

The head of Gazprom spoke at a meeting dedicated to the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry.

A long-term contract for the purchase and sale of natural gas along the "Far Eastern" route was signed in early 2022. After the pipeline reaches full capacity, the volume of pipeline gas supplies from Russia to China will increase by 10 billion cubic meters and in total - taking into account the Power of Siberia gas pipeline - will reach 48 billion cubic meters per year.
