Gazprom Stopped the Power of Siberia Gas Pipeline for Preventive Maintenance until April 1

OREANDA-NEWS. Gazprom stopped the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, through which gas goes to the Far East and China, for preventive work until April 1. This was reported by the gas holding Information Department.
"Today at 05:00 hours Moscow time, preventive work has begun on the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. They are scheduled to be completed by April 1", the statement said. "The dates of work were agreed by Gazprom and CNPC. According to an agreement previously reached by the parties, scheduled maintenance of gas pipeline equipment and systems will be carried out twice a year: in spring and autumn", the company added.
At present, the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, which was launched in December 2019, supplies gas from the Chayandinskoye field to Russian consumers in the Far East and China. At the end of 2022, according to the Power of Siberia, deliveries should begin from another field - Kovyktinsky (the largest in Eastern Russia by gas reserves).
Deliveries under the agreement concluded in 2014 between Gazprom and the Chinese CNPC will be carried out for 30 years. The annual volume of gas supplies is 38 billion cubic meters, the contract amount is $ 400 billion. In December 2019, Gazprom supplied 328 million cubic meters of gas to China through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.
