OREANDA-NEWS. Russian corporation Gazprom paid to the Naftogaz of Ukraine company 2.9 billion US dollars, the debt formed in accordance with the decision of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

“In order to fulfill the agreements reached in Minsk on December 20, Gazprom paid 2.9 billion dollars to Naftogaz of Ukraine… within the time period stipulated by the protocol of December 20,” the representative of Russian party reported.

The Naftogaz press service confirmed the receipt of funds, noting that in total, the company received 5 billion dollars from the dispute in the arbitration with Gazprom. This sum consists of the 2.9 billion paid today and 2.1 billion received by Naftogaz in the form of gas supplied in 2014. “Naftogaz welcomes the recognition by the Russian side of the need to comply with arbitration decisions of 2017–2018,” the statement says.
