Gazprom Neft Opened a New Field on the Shelf of Okhotsk Sea
OREANDA-NEWS Gazprom Neft opened a new field located on the Ayashsky section on the shelf of the sea of Okhotsk with geological reserves of over 137 million tons of oil equivalent, and gave it the name "Triton", according to a press release of the oil company.
The field was discovered following the drilling and testing of exploration wells subsidiaries of the company — "Gazpromneft-Sakhalin" — Bucinskas Assago the structure of the site.
"The new field will be called "Triton" — in honor of the ancient sea God, the son of Neptune, " the company notes.

The Neptune field is one of the largest on the Sakhalin shelf. It was discovered in 2017. Its reserves amounted to 415 million tons of oil in C1+C2 categories. Ayashsky license area in the sea of Okhotsk is located in the North-Eastern part of the shelf of Sakhalin island, 55 kilometers from the coastline. The depth of the sea on the site - up to 90 meters. Earlier, 3D seismic exploration in the amount of 2.15 thousand square kilometers was carried out on the Ayash license area.
At the end of September, the source told that Gazprom Neft is close to opening a new oil field on the Ayashsky site, the volume of reserves of which was then estimated at 80 million tons of oil equivalent.
Earlier it was reported that "Gazprom Neft" has signed an agreement with the Ministry of energy and FAS to stabilize the fuel market in Russia.
The company notes that it fully complies with the agreements with the government of the Russian Federation and is interested in further development of the Russian fuel market.
