OREANDA-NEWS. Gazprom continues to increase gas transit to Europe: the flow of gas through Poland via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline has been increased, and the maximum volume of deliveries through Ukraine has been declared within the framework of contractual obligations. This was announced on Wednesday, October 10, by the RIA Novosti news agency.

According to the "Operator of the GTS of Ukraine", Russia's applications for pumping gas through the Sudzha and Sokhranovka gas metering stations totaled 10.3 million cubic meters per day. This is the maximum contractual volume of transit capacity booked by Gazprom in Ukraine for this year.

A day earlier, the volume of applications increased to 100.2 million cubic meters.

The volume of applications for pumping along the Uzhgorod corridor, through which the main transit of Russian gas passes, has also increased. It is planned to pump 94.3 million cubic meters per day through the connection point Uzhgorod-Velke Kapushany, which is 9 million more than the day before.

Deliveries via Poland via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline continue to increase, remaining within the booked volume of transport capacity. According to the German operator GTS Gascaded, hourly gas deliveries from Poland to Germany amount to 1.2 million cubic meters, while 1.3 million cubic meters were booked for a month. The indicator has grown by a quarter since yesterday.

The cost of gas in Europe rose sharply this autumn due to the fact that the Europeans did not timely accumulate enough gas in their UGS facilities and even sold part of their reserves during the period of high prices for natural gas.

In the EU countries, political demands were put forward for the commercial company Gazprom to increase gas supplies, but the company did not have enough free volumes, since it filled UGS facilities in the Russian Federation for a successful heating season.

At the end of October, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Gazprom to start increasing the volume of gas in European underground gas storage facilities. The head of the company, Alexey Miller, assured that the concern would do just that. Putin ordered to inform him about the progress of the process.
