OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Energy proposed to ban the export of gasoline from Russia for three months. This is stated in the corresponding draft government decree. It is explained that such measures are taken to "prevent the acceleration of the growth of prices" for fuel.

The temporary export ban applies to motor gasolines of all brands and light distillates. The Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will have to "ensure the balance of fuel markets and prevent the acceleration of fuel price growth" and monitor the production and supply of fuel to the domestic market.

Earlier in April, the Kommersant newspaper wrote about the impending restriction of fuel exports. The publication noted that they plan to add gasoline to the list of goods that are essential for the domestic market, but in exceptional cases, temporary restrictions or export bans may be imposed on them.

Earlier, the deputy prime minister of the department, Alexander Novak, said that the rise in gasoline prices will be restrained in Russia in a new way, and this is planned to be done by introducing a partial restriction on exports. In turn, the deputy head of the FAS Vitaly Korolev called such a measure extreme.
