Gas Supply Via Nord Stream-2 has Stopped
OREANDA-NEWS. Gas pumping through the Nord Stream gas pipeline from Russia to Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea has been suspended until July 23 due to scheduled repairs. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the data of the operators of the receiving gas transmission system.
Information on the websites of pipeline operators Nel and Opal, the onshore extensions of Nord Stream, indicates that supplies have been completely cut off from 7:00 Moscow time.
Earlier, the gas pipeline operator Nord Stream AG announced that the schedule and work plan had been agreed with the company's partners and disclosed in a timely manner in accordance with the regulations.
Last week, Gazprom completed annual maintenance on the Yamal-Europe gas trunkline with a capacity of 33 billion cubic meters per year. At the time of the renovation, the company used its own underground gas storage facilities in Europe for deliveries.
Earlier, analysts suggested that Gazprom is refusing to book additional capacities of the Ukrainian gas transmission system for the sake of additional support for Nord Stream 2. By creating an artificial shortage, the company leads European consumers to the idea that without the launch of a new gas pipeline, they cannot count on an increase in supplies. The situation has already led to a sharp rise in prices in the region.
