OREANDA-NEWS. Reverse deliveries from Germany to Poland via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline have decreased more than five times, RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the German gas transmission operator Gascade.
On the eve, gas transit fluctuated in the range of 885-955 thousand cubic meters per hour, and with the beginning of a new gas day, the indicators decreased more than five times. Reverse deliveries to Poland through Malnow, the westernmost point of the mainline in Germany, amounted to almost 155 thousand cubic meters from 8.00 to 9.00 Moscow time.
The mainline went into reverse mode on December 21, deliveries from Germany to Poland continue against the background of the fact that Gazprom has not been booking the pipeline's capacities for more than two weeks. Gazprom began to gradually reduce booking volumes from 17 December.
Yamal-Europe, along with Nord Stream and the Ukrainian gas transmission system, is one of the main routes for Russian gas supplies to Europe. The gas pipeline passes through the territory of Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany and can pump up to 33 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
Earlier, the official representative of the company, Sergei Kupriyanov, said that all accusations against Gazprom in insufficient volumes of gas supplies to the European market are groundless. According to him, Gazprom is ready to supply additional volumes of gas within the framework of existing long-term contracts. At the same time, the price of these supplies is lower than the spot prices, Kupriyanov emphasized.
