OREANDA-NEWS  The volume of gas production in Russia in October increased by about 11.8% and reached the level of 60.13 billion cubic meters.m. This is reported by the newspaper "Kommersant" with reference to sources familiar with the statistics of the Ministry of Energy.

At the same time, as the publication emphasizes, in January — October 2023, gas production amounted to 534.5 billion cubic meters, which is 4% less than in 2022.

The article also says that Gazprom increased production in October by 14.6% at once, to 38.6 billion cubic meters, but in ten months the production of "other subsoil users" fell by 11%, to 327.8 billion cubic meters.

Analysts note that the trend towards recovery of production is supported by the growth of exports to China and an increase in domestic consumption.

On November 22, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia will increase the supply of pipeline gas to China to 100 billion cubic meters per year.

Earlier, the European Commission announced plans to abandon Russian gas by the end of the decade.
