OREANDA-NEWS  The Federal Antimonopoly Service proposed to increase regulated gas prices in Russia by eight percent from July 1 in 2024 and 2025, according to documents published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

"The change will be planned and the first in a year and a half," the Federal Antimonopoly Service noted.

In addition, it will help to implement repair and investment programs.

The Ministry of Energy explained the need for tariff indexation by the fact that now more than 30 percent of Russian gas pipelines have been in operation for more than 40 years.

Gas prices in Russia have been rising since December 1, 2022 - also by 8.5 percent.
