OREANDA-NEWS. Europe is considering Israeli gas supplies through Turkey as an alternative to Russian fuel, according to the Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak. Also, the authorities in Ankara decided to expand the fleet for deep-sea drilling work, a fourth vessel entered it.
While tensions between Russia and Ukraine remain, the search for alternative gas continues in Europe. If an agreement is reached on the delivery of Israeli gas to Europe through Turkey, it is expected that the Turkish ship will be on duty during the transmission periods, the newspaper writes.
The material also clarifies that the country's authorities have focused on deep-sea drilling for the extraction of natural energy resources from the seas, in connection with this, Turkey has added a fourth drilling vessel to its fleet.
The new generation ship, which will serve in the Eastern Mediterranean, will begin its first mission in July after two months of preparatory work. It will facilitate deep-sea exploration and dredging in the Mediterranean, can operate at depths of up to 3,600 meters, and is capable of drilling up to 12,200 meters.
Gas transit through Ukraine has dropped by more than a quarter as of April 16. According to the GTS Operator of Ukraine (OGTSU), the application for the pumping of Russian blue fuel through their system has decreased to 46.8 million cubic meters. The operator of the Ukrainian gas transmission system announced a ban on gas intake into the system through the Sohranivka station in the Luhansk region, which came under the control of the Russian military. Gazprom refused to transfer gas flows to another entrance to the Sudzha station on Ukrainian territory.
