OREANDA-NEWS Satellite city of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Energodar was attacked again by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Representatives of the ZAES wrote about this on the Telegram channel.

"An APU drone strike damaged a transformer at the Zarya substation, located in close proximity to the perimeter of the NPP," the publication says.

It is noted that this substation is involved in powering the plant's infrastructure facilities and its damage poses a potential threat to the safety of nuclear power plants. At the moment, a backup power supply scheme for the infrastructure has been introduced at the station.

Earlier it became known that two high-voltage power transmission lines (power lines) were damaged in Energodar as a result of shelling by artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the mayor of the city, Eduard Senovoz, the APU strikes on Energodar have taken on a systemic character, they are applied to the infrastructure of the city.
