OREANDA-NEWS In the south of Russia, temporary schedules for limiting energy consumption have been introduced due to a malfunction at the Rostov NPP, the telegram channel of the Federal Ministry of Energy reports.

"In the energy system of the south of Russia, due to a malfunction of the generating equipment at the Rostov NPP, in conditions of increased loads on the power system, temporary schedules for limiting consumption by 1.5 GW have been introduced in order to maintain the stability of the power system," the message says.

The restoration work remains under special control of the Russian Ministry of Energy until the power supply is fully restored.

"The power unit is disabled by the action of automation due to problems on the turbine generator. The reasons are being investigated, the radiation background is normal," Rosatom State Corporation reported.
