OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus has forcedly suspended the export of light oil products to Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic countries due to the receipt of poor-quality Russian oil, Deputy Director General of the Belarusian Oil Company (BNK) Sergey Grib told reporters on Tuesday in Minsk.
“The supply of light petroleum products - gasoline and diesel fuel - to Ukraine, to the Baltic countries and Poland was suspended,” said Grib, commenting on the consequences of a reduction in oil refining volumes at Belarusian refineries due to poor quality oil from Russia. Russian Transneft admitted violations and promised to rectify the situation by April 22–23. The Russian side promised to improve the quality of raw materials in the near future.
“At the moment, contractual obligations are suspended until the issue with Russian oil is resolved,” said Mushroom. He said that exports had to be suspended due to the fact that Belarus needs to meet the increased needs of the domestic market. The export of such oil products has been preserved in full due to the absence of their consumption in the domestic market. A day ago, the Belarusian side reported that it was waiting for the resumption of deliveries of "clean" oil from Russia no earlier than 8-10 days, since the source of pollution was discovered 1,500 kilometers from the Belarusian border - in Samara. region.
On April 19, the Belneftekhim concern announced a sharp deterioration in the quality of oil flowing through the pipeline from Russia. In this regard, both Belarusian refineries - Mozyr Refinery OJSC (Gomel region) and Naftan OJSC (Vitebsk region) reported on the threat of equipment damage and reduced refining volumes by almost 50%. Concern Belneftekhim announced a temporary restriction on exports of petroleum products from Belarus, taking into account the growth of domestic needs.
