IDGC of Centre to Provide Reliable Power Supply to 10,979 Stations
18 September 2016 there will be the election of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, as well as elections to regional legislative bodies and local self-government. In connection with the election IDGC of Centre is taking strong measures to ensure the reliability of electricity supply to polling stations in the company’s service area.
In the regions of the service area of IDGC of Centre voting will be held at a total at 8,370 polling stations, directly connected to the company’s grid and 2,609 stations that are connected through grids of territorial grid companies.

At the same time, when the need arises, our company’s specialists are ready to assist other territorial grid companies," stressed First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin.
In order to ensure the reliability of operation of electric grid facilities IDGC of Centre’s power engineers implemented a set of preparatory measures. The company’s specialists checked electrical installations, which supply the polling stations, the technical condition and availability of back-up power sources, provision of crews with inventories, equipment, special vehicles, means of communication. Fire-fighting equipment underwent unscheduled inspections, and the status of centres of operational and technological management was checked. A schedule of around the clock operating and maintenance personnel on the Single Voting Day was made, and security measures were enhanced.
In the period from 10 to 19 September in all branches of IDGC of Centre there is a special operation mode, to ensure reliable operation of the power system all planned repairs and associated switching with them in existing installations were cancelled.
IDGC of Centre’s specialists organized interaction with territorial bodies of internal affairs, civil defense and emergencies, local governments - for timely provision of information and coordinated action in an event of threat of terrorist, sabotage and other illegal activities and emergencies. The power engineers will be on high alert until the signing of protocols at the polling stations. Backup power supply of socially significant customers, if necessary, can be provided by back-up power sources with a total capacity of 15,883 kW.
