IDGC of Centre Continues to Implement Its Own R&D Results
The composite 10 kV power line were developed in the course of research and development work carried out by power engineers of IDGC of Centre as part of the company’s innovative development program for 2015-2019, taking into account the State Strategy of development of the industry of building materials.
Composite poles offer several advantages compared with metal and wooden ones. They are due to unique properties of the composite material, which allows such poles to be much more resilient to impacts of bad weather - freezing rain, excessive icing and wind loads. They do not rot and corrode, resist impact of birds and insects, fire resistance with use of special flame retardant formulations (in the future - additives). Composite poles are dielectric, therefore they do not require earthing, and then - safer in operation.
Low weight of the composite pole, relative to conventionally used in the construction of 10 kV overhead concrete poles, makes it easier to transport and install. This not only reduces material and labour costs of its installation, but also makes good use in difficult terrain and in cramped conditions of residential areas, where the use of heavy machinery is complicated. An important advantage of the new poles is their long life - the life of composite bodies is about 70 years.
One should note a comprehensive approach to the innovation implementation, carried out by the specialists of the Lipetsk branch of the company. So, at the 0.4 kV power line reconstruction in the same village in 2014 they for the first time used steel multi-sided anchor poles – an own development of IDGC of Centre, implemented as a system in all branches.
