Season of Construction Crews Ended at IDGC of Centre
The labour semester of students’ construction crews was at the peak of the season of mass construction and repair work. Students, having received the second electrical safety group, could help the power company in the preparation of power equipment for the coming winter, and try their hand in various areas: planned rounds of power lines, participation in the repair campaign, taking meter readings.
The students mastered the skills of interaction with consumers, the work of engineers of the operational and technology group, learned to read power supply circuits, got to know the features of the very difficult and responsible profession of the operator. Each branch of IDGC of Centre formed a list of the necessary scope of work. The company entered into a fixed-term employment contract with each participant of the students’ construction crews.
One of the participants in the labour practice at Belgorodenergo Venyamin Bondar stressed: "Thanks to the practical work we were able to see with our own eyes what we studied in the theory: installation of heat-shrinkable sleeves, cable fault location, phasing, cable testing, commissioning of new package transformer substations. This is a very useful and important. I am particularly pleased that the basics of the profession were shared with us by young professionals, who not so long ago became employees of the company. In the course of performing any task they tried as much as possible to tell and show, giving each question an easy to understand answer. It was nice to feel like a member of the crew in the close-knit team, where everyone tries to learn something and help you."
"To be in real production conditions, take part in the daily work of power engineers - for me it was a test of strength. Never before that I worked all day in the heat, under the scorching sun. But work is work, and it makes very disciplined. Especially when you see around these professionals being responsible and caring for results of their work," shared his impressions a 2-year student of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science of the Lipetsk State Technical University Sergey Frolov.
At the close of the employment season of students’ construction crews specialists IDGC of Centre summed up the summer work shift and gave the students work record books. For the majority of future power engineers the work at the branches of the company was the first professional experience, but teachers, summing up the work practice, noted their good theoretical knowledge of their pupils.
The company believes that the students’ construction crew - this is a very good experience. While being still students, the young people were able to plunge into the production process and to feel its full participants. The company’s specialists tried to organize the construction crew work so that the students could get a maximum of practical skills as a result of it. From the first days of functioning of the students’ construction crews the future power engineers had experienced and professional employees of IDGC of Centre near them, ready to share their accumulated professional experience with them.
