URENCO and Energoatom Sign Contract on Supply of Enriched Uranium
OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraine’s national nuclear energy generating company Energoatom and the Anglo- German-Dutch company URENCO have signed a contract on supply of the enriched uranium for Ukraine.
URENCO’s CEO Mr Thomas Haeberle and Energoatom’s President Mr Yuriy Nedashkovskyi signed the contract at a ceremony in Kyiv. Present at the event was also the British Ambassador to Ukraine Ms Judith Gough.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Thomas Haeberle, CEO/URENCO, said: “In 2016, URENCO was invited to submit an offer for supply of Enriched Uranium as part of Energoatom’s competitive procurement exercise. URENCO is pleased that Energoatom is once again part of its global portfolio of customers and looks forward to making deliveries under the new contract in due course.”
