OREANDA-NEWS. The Ninian South oil platform in the North Sea, which feeds crude into the Brent blend, has been shut down following a fire.
The fire, which happened on 22 June, was swiftly extinguished, Canada-based platform operator CNR International said today. There are no plans to remove staff from the platform, but production remains halted while a full investigation is conducted and no timeline for restart was given.
