OREANDA-NEWS. Nestle Waters has opened Switzerland’s largest agricultural biogas production facility.

The Valbroye plant will provide renewable energy for the nearby Henniez bottled water plant and the Swiss power grid, as well as natural fertiliser for local farms.

The facility will generate enough green electricity to power more than 1,000 households annually.

27 local farms will provide 25,000 tonnes of manure per year to the biogas plant, thereby reducing CO2 emissions by 1,750 tonnes per year.
