AES Announces Public Offering of $500 Million of Senior Notes

The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES) announced today that it intends, subject to market and other conditions, to offer $500 million aggregate principal amount of senior notes due 2026 (the “Notes”). AES intends to use the net proceeds from the offering of the Notes to repay or redeem certain of its outstanding debt, including a portion of its outstanding senior unsecured floating rate notes due 2019, and for general corporate purposes.
