OREANDA-NEWS The owners of gas stations in Dagestan decided to temporarily suspend work due to the investigation of a recent explosion at a gas station on the outskirts of Makhachkala, the Ministry of Energy of the republic reported on Telegram.

As noted in the department, the closure of all gas stations in the Russian region is connected with the recent tragedy in the New Khushet of the Karabudakhkent district.

The ministry noted that after the explosion in front of the gas station in August 2023, which killed 37 people, the Prosecutor's office of Dagestan and the Office of Rostechnadzor in the republic checked more than 600 gas stations. As a result, 315 materials were created, of which 149 lawsuits to the courts for the suspension of gas stations and 166 rulings on the initiation of an administrative offense case.

A powerful explosion at a gas station in the village of Novy Khushet in the suburbs of Makhachkala occurred on the evening of September 27. As a result, the gas station building was destroyed, as well as a truck and two cars were damaged. 13 people were killed, including two children. 11 more Russians were injured.
