OREANDA-NEWS  Electricity exports from the Russian Federation exceeded 5.5 billion kWh in the first nine months of 2024, Alexandra Panina, a member of the Management Board of PJSC Inter RAO, told reporters on the sidelines of the All-Russian Tariff Conference.

"In principle, these are not bad results. 51% of our supplies go to Kazakhstan, the second place is Mongolia (about 17%). Unfortunately, there are no significant deliveries to China. We keep supplies to China in the amount of about 113 MW on an even schedule in an isolated zone," Panina said.

It is still difficult to predict the results of 2024, the top manager said, noting that the company has a winter fourth quarter ahead, in which there are hopes for an increase in supplies.

"Now we are specifically supplying to Georgia. We have a small volume, which is agreed upon by the "System Operator". During October, we have regular deliveries to Georgia. We supply up to 300 MW. But this is now, while there is an opportunity in the autumn period," Panina said.

In September, Panina gave a forecast of electricity exports from the Russian Federation at the end of 2024 at the level of 7 billion kW.h versus 10.7 billion kW.h a year earlier.

Inter RAO is the only electricity export/import operator in the Russian Federation.

The main shareholder of Inter RAO at the end of 2023 was Rosneftegaz (26.37%), Inter RAO Capital accounted for 29.56%. Another 8.57% at the end of 2021 belonged to PJSC Federal Grid Company - Rosseti (formerly FGC UES, now merged with PJSC ROSSETI), and 34.24% was in free circulation.
