The Joint Statement has been signed about the final acceptance of Kudankulam NPP Unit No. 1
OREANDA-NEWS. On April 5 the Joint Statement on the final acceptance of Kudankulam NPP Unit No. 1 was signed by representatives of JSC “Atomstroyexport” and Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).
By signing this document, the Russian and Indian parties confirmed that the Contractor (JSC “Atomstroyexport”) had fulfilled all its warranty conditions and obligations under construction contracts for Kudankulam NPP Unit No. 1.
“The operation warranty period has shown reliable and safe work of the plant. So, the Indian Customer acknowledged that ASE Group of Companies, which is the General Contractor, had fully and in a quality manner fulfilled the tasks set before it”, stated Mr. Andrey Lebedev, ASE Group of Companies’ Vice-president for projects in South Asia.
“Further operation of the Power Unit 1 is entirely under responsibility of the Indian side”, added he.
On March 30, 2017 the joint protocol on preliminary acceptance of Kudankulam NPP Unit No. 2 was signed.
Kudankulam NPP is constructed as per Atomenergoproekt JSC design with VVER-1000 MW power units, which fully satisfies the requirements of valid regulatory and technical documents of Russia, IAEA and which is certified for compliance with the requirements of European operating organizations club (EUR).
Kudankulam NPP is constructed in Tamil Nadu state of India within the scope of Russian-Indian agreement dated November 20th, 1988 and its attachments dated June 21st, 1998
