Termination of Agreement between Russia and Ukraine
Under the Agreement, the oil-product pipelines – Samara-Zapadnoye Napravleniye and Grozny-Armavir-Trudovaya – passing through Ukrainian territory shall be operated by the subsidiaries of Transnefteprodukt (100 percent of its common stock is invested in the charter capital of Transneft).
The Agreement regulates some aspects of the operation of these oil mains.
In February 2016, Transneft sold the sections located in Ukraine to Switzerland’s International Trading Partners AG. The transaction was approved by the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service on 16 October, 2015 and the Ukrainian Anti-Monopoly Committee on 22 December, 2015.
In this context Russia’s participation in the Agreement is no longer advisable.
