OREANDA-NEWS. One of the most influential international and authoritative international magazine for the generation industry, POWER magazine announced winners of the annual POWER awards.  

The 4th unit of Beloyarsk NPP with fast neutron reactor BN 800 was awarded 2016 Top Plant in the nuclear generation category. Among winning attributes are it's multiple usability purposes including power generation, plutonium consumption, processing of long-lived supertransuranics accumulated in the radwastes of reactors of any type, and production of isotopes. The jury noted also the essential role in Russia’s plans to close the nuclear fuel cycle, increase production of nuclear fuel, expand its nuclear power fleet, and reduce nuclear waste.

Top Plants are most interesting and innovative projects that will be of general interest to the power industry. Award winners are selected by the editors of POWER.
