Oil & Natural Gas Sector of India for September
OREANDA-NEWS. Production Performance of Oil & Natural Gas Sector for September, 2016.
Crude Oil
1. Crude oil production during September, 2016 was 2917.43 TMT which is 2.82% and 4.09% lower than target and production achieved in September 2015 respectively. Cumulative crude oil production during April-September, 2016 was 18063.64 TMT which is 1.09% and 3.30% lower than target and production during corresponding period of last year respectively. Unit-wise and state-wise crude oil production is given at Annexure-I. Unit-wise crude oil production for the month of September, 2016 and cumulatively for the period April-September, 2016 vis-à-vis same period of last year has been shown in Table-1 and month-wise in Figure-1.
1.1 Crude oil production by ONGC during September, 2016 was 1803.68 TMT which is 1.77% lower than the monthly target and 2.83% less when compared with September, 2015. Cumulative crude oil production during April-September, 2016 was 11028.90 TMT which is 1.32% lower than target for the period and 1.89% lower than the production during corresponding period of last year. Reasons for shortfall in production in some fields are as under:
v Less than planned production from matured and marginal fields & increase in water cut in few wells of Heera field.
1.2 Crude oil production by OIL during September, 2016 was 261.84 TMT which is 4.32% lower than monthly target but 0.13% higher than production in September 2015. Cumulative crude oil production during April-September, 2016 was 1604.78 TMT which is 0.87% lower than target for the period and 2.72% lower than the production during corresponding period of last year. Reasons for shortfall in production are as under:
v Less than planned contribution from high producing areas like Greater Hapjan, Greater Chandmari fields & Naharkatiya fields on account of rise in water cut.
v Loss in production of 1236 MT on account of bandhs and miscreant activities/local problems at various locations during the month
1.3 Crude oil production by Pvt. /JVs during September, 2016 was 851.90 TMT which is 4.51% lower than the monthly target and 7.81% lower than September, 2015. Cumulative crude oil production during April-September, 2016 was 5429.96 TMT which is 0.70 % lower than target for the period and 6.21% lower than the production during corresponding period of last year. Reasons for shortfall in production are as under:
v Panna-Mukta: Lower production due to closure of wells in PC, PG (till 23rd Sept’16) & PF (till 16th Sept’16) due to riser integrity issue.
v Less production from RJ-ON-90/1 due to downtime related to wells intervention in Mangala, Bhagyam & Aishwarya; higher than expected water cut from Bhagyam wells & EPS/Packer failure in 2 wells in Aishwarya.
v Natural Decline in Ravva & CB-OS/2
Natural Gas
2. Natural gas production during September 2016 was 2600.10 MMSCM which is 5.75% lower than the target for the month and 5.45% lower than the production in September, 2015. Cumulative natural gas production during April-September, 2016 was 15723.54 MMSCM which is 3.69% lower than target for the period and 4.41% lower than the production during corresponding period of last year. Unit-wise and state-wise natural gas production is given at Annexure-II. Unit-wise natural gas production for the month of September, 2016 and cumulatively for the period April-September, 2016 vis-à-vis same period of last year has been shown in Table-2 and month-wise in Figure-2.
2.1 Natural gas production by ONGC during September, 2016 was 1841.92 MMSCM which is 0.72% higher than the monthly target and 1.46% higher when compared with September, 2015. Cumulative natural gas production during April-September, 2016 was 10683.56 MMSCM which is 1.01% lower than the cumulative target and 1.42% lower than the production during the corresponding period of last year.
2.2 Natural gas production by OIL during September, 2016 was 243.49 MMSCM which is 2.11% lower than the monthly target but 7.23% higher than September 2015. Cumulative natural gas production during April-September, 2016 was 1474.37 MMSCM which is 2.65% lower than the cumulative target but 9.70% higher than the production during the corresponding period of last year. Reasons for shortfall in production are as under:
v Low production due to decline in production potential in a few high producing gas wells on account of unexpected subsurface problems like water and sand ingress.
v NRL under annual maintenance from 10.09.2016 to 25.09.2016.
2.3 Natural gas production by Pvt. /JVs during September, 2016 was 514.69 MMSCM which is 24.46% lower than the monthly target and 27.26% less when compared with September, 2015. Cumulative natural gas production during April-September, 2016 was 3565.61 MMSCM which is 11.28% lower than the cumulative target and 16.44% lower than the production during the corresponding period of last year. Reasons for shortfall in production are as under:
v Closure of 1 well in MA and 1 well in D1D3 field in KG-DWN-98/3.
v PC, PG & PF Platforms shutdown for different durations at Panna-Mukta, in response to leak in riser.
v Underperformance of KG-OSN-2001/3
v Increase in water cut in a few wells in RJ-ON/6.
v Underperformance of Sohagpur West CBM blocks.
