Gazpromneft-Aero is the first Russian company to automate recordings of aviation fuel supplies
OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft-Aero is the first Russian aviation fuel operator to switch to automated recording of aviation fuel supplies when refueling commercial aircrafts. This will substantially reduce the time required for refueling and will make the payment processes with airlines more efficient.
The first refueller equipped with an automated recording monitor was launched at Sheremetyevo airport in January 2017. The machine has a controlling device, digital screens, counter-mass meter, GSM unit and printer. This technology will reduce the time needed to prepare the primary documentation when refueling aircrafts and reduce the margin for error.
When using the automated recording monitor, an operator must log in using a smart card and then enter the required information about the volume of jet fuel and details about additives. During the refueling process, the data is displayed on digital screens. As soon as the correct level of fuel is administered, the system will automatically stop refueling, print the receipt and send a service report to Gazpromneft-Aero’s server through the GSM unit.
The automated recording system will allow conducting and controlling payments in the online format. The system will also reduce human error during the refueling process and in the documentation afterwards.
Vladimir Egorov, General Director of Gazpromneft-Aero, said: “We anticipate that the testing of the first refueller at Sheremetyevo to be a great success and the technology will enable us to make payments processes with airlines more efficient, transparent and convenient. Installing the new monitors is key to our strategic project of full commercial accounting, which will revolutionize not only the Company’s IT systems, but also the ways in which we do business. I believe that through using breakthrough technologies it will give us the competitive advantage in the Russian and the international markets of aviation fuel supply”.
Gazpromneft-Aero is a Gazprom Neft subsidiary. The Company has been refueling aircraft and “into the wing” aviation fuel sales since 1 January 2008. Gazpromneft-Aero is a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the field of aviation fuel supply since December 2008. Gazpromneft-Aero occupies leading positions in the Russian aviation fuel market by volume of retail sales. In its operations the company uses technologies that comply with the highest level of fuelling operations safety: Green. The Company refuels aircrafts in more than 200 airports of 60 countries worldwide.
