OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2017. A Gazprom delegation headed by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee, paid a visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan today. Tashkent hosted working meetings of Alexey Miller with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoev and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

The meeting participants expressed appreciation for the bilateral partnership in the energy sector. It was noted that Gazprom and Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Corporation successfully cooperated in gas prospecting and production within Uzbekistan, including at the Shakhpakhty field. The meeting resulted in an agreement to develop a joint plan for geological exploration in Uzbekistan and to promote exchange of experience in design operations management and skilled workforce training for the gas industry.

The parties discussed Gazprom’s natural gas procurements from Uzbekistan and the implementation of Uzbekistan-based investment projects.
