30 Ukrainian Cities May Remain without Heating from February 1
OREANDA-NEWS. The press service of the national company Naftogaz of Ukraine reported that since February 1, 2020, a number of thermal energy companies can be disconnected from gas supply because of debts.
The list of debtors includes 37 enterprises located in the capital of the country, regions of Kiev, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk and other territories. All companies owe to Naftogaz more than 454 million hryvnias (more than 18.5 million US dollars).
Thus, 30 Ukrainian cities may remain partially or completely without heating. “Inadequate calculations of such enterprises for gas pose a threat to the heat supply to consumers in 30 cities during the heating period. The company notified these enterprises in writing of the need for urgent settlements in order to avoid interruption of gas supply,” the statement of Naftogaz published on its Internet site says.
