According to the acting Mayor of Batumi Leyla Surmanidze, at the moment there is at least one more family of several people under the rubble. Two residents were able to call the rescuers and remain in touch with them. She noted that the probable cause of the collapse of the residential building was an explosion due to a gas leak. The territory of the residential building is cordoned off by the police.
