OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Digital Affairs recommends that mobile operators limit unlimited tariffs due to equipment problems, Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, told KP.RU. It is almost entirely produced abroad and has now become much more expensive. The main expenses of operators are infrastructure, he explained.
The main part of the equipment (98%) is not produced in Russia, it is bought for foreign currency. Therefore, its cost has now risen sharply, availability has decreased. In addition, European and American companies have left our market, China remains. Chinese equipment is not bad, of high quality, but in the absence of competition and in conditions of shortage, prices went up. Operators' expenses have risen sharply, and there is nowhere to compensate for them,” Murtazin said.
The unlimited limit is an attempt to save the cost of services, he added. At the same time, it is impossible to connect to the unlimited tariff from the end of 2021, the analyst recalled.
Earlier, Denis Kuskov, CEO of the information and analytical agency Telecom Daily, said that there is nothing in Russia to replace failing Internet equipment. In this regard, within a few months, citizens may experience problems with the Internet.
