OREANDA-NEWS  The Tagansky court of Moscow fined Telegram messenger 3 million rubles for refusing to delete information about anti-government actions. This is reported by a TASS correspondent from the courtroom.

"The court decided to find Telegram Messenger Inc guilty under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (failure by the owner of an information resource on the Internet to delete information if the obligation to delete such information is provided for by law) and to punish him with a fine in the amount of 3 million rubles," Judge Svetlana Spitsyna read out her decision. The company was threatened with a maximum fine of 4 million rubles.

As stated in the case materials announced in court, Roskomnadzor employees, during Internet monitoring, found unreliable information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Telegram channels, as well as calls to participate in anti-government protests. The agency sent a warning to Telegram demanding that these posts be deleted, but the demand was ignored. After that, a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up against the messenger.

Telegram representatives did not appear in court, although they were notified of the meeting. The decision was made in their absence.
