The head of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, announced the launch of bonus programs through which bloggers will be able to earn money for content on the popular social networks Instagram and Facebook. One billion dollars (about 74 billion rubles) was allocated for the project. It is reported by CNBC.

“We want to create the best platforms for millions of users. To help them make a living, we are developing new programs. We intend to invest over $ 1 billion in rewards to creators for the great content they create on Facebook and Instagram by 2022,” Zuckerberg said.

The first bonus program for American bloggers will reward content creators for the short video service Reels. It is noted that payments for Facebook bloggers will also be launched in the fall.

The company hopes that the payments will "entice" users on Instagram and Facebook from the popular competing service TikTok.

Instagram and Facebook launched Reels short video service and music in Russia on June 23. With Reels, users can shoot videos up to 30 seconds long, apply various effects to them, and publish them as a post or story. It is noted that these functions have been available for residents of the United States and several other countries for several years.
