Russian Authority Will Block Internet Resources that Publish "False Information" about Dead Servicemen
OREANDA-NEWS Roskomnadzor in its official Telegram channel warned the owners of Russian Internet resources about the responsibility for the distribution of advertising with false information. The agency decided to block Internet resources that published "false information about numerous victims among Russian servicemen" during a special operation in Ukraine.
"On some Russian Internet resources, Roskomnadzor has revealed the facts of demonstrating unreliable socially significant information posted as part of Google Ads contextual advertising.
Such reports contain false information about numerous victims among Russian servicemen, as well as the civilian population of Ukraine during a special military operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine," the message reads.
The agency has already sent a letter to Google LLC with a request to immediately restrict access to "unreliable materials in the context of Google Ads contextual advertising."
Roskomnadzor also warned that Internet resources could be fined up to 5 million rubles for the distribution of contextual advertising containing unreliable socially significant information.
