Work in this direction is entering the final stage, said Kirill Smurov, First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for drug control of the police.
In accordance with the instructions of the President, work is now being completed, and we hope that a fairly serious step in counteracting, primarily in matters of preventing and averting this area of illegal activity related to the dissemination of information about drugs, should be the establishment of criminal liability for the promotion of narcotic drugs on the Internet. , - he said.
The general added that the department is constantly updating the list of substances prohibited in Russia. In recent years, changes have been made to it 17 times. Currently, the list includes over a thousand different substances and plants. The department is preparing another decree, which will add about 40 new items to the list.
Earlier, Smurov said that Ukraine is pursuing a targeted policy to saturate Russia with drugs, sending specially trained people into the country who organize the production and sale of narcotic substances. According to him, this illegal activity once again intensified at the end of 2021.
