OREANDA-NEWS. Internet marketer Alexander Zobov will launch a domestic version of the Instagram social network called Rossgram on March 28, 2022. This was reported on the official page of the project in VKontakte.
It is noted that the application will work on Android and iOS. Initially, only popular bloggers and project partners, including sponsors and investors, will be able to use it. Rossgram will become publicly available in April.
The developers will introduce additional tools for content monetization into the domestic application: paid access to publications, a fundraising function, and a referral program. The social network is also working on the function of transferring data from Instagram.
On March 14, Roskomnadzor officially entered the Instagram social network into the register of banned sites. Access to the social network was restricted at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office on March 11 this year. Access to Facebook was blocked by Roskomnadzor on March 4.
Blocking the social network in Russia began on Sunday, March 13, from the regions of the Far East.
According to Interfax, the reason for blocking was the information that Facebook and Instagram will temporarily allow users in some countries to call for violence against Russian soldiers.
In turn, the Prosecutor General's Office responded to this event.
The American company Meta owns the social networks Facebook, Instagram, as well as WhatsApp and Messenger from Facebook. Access to Facebook was blocked by Roskomnadzor on March 4.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor explained the blocking of Instagram by concern for the psychological health of Russians.
